★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 青い森鉄道になり、みどりの窓口はなくなりましたが、駅そばは健在で、よい匂いが空腹感を引き立てます。
ホームから防風林を見ることができ、夜はライトアップされてて綺麗でした。
 It became a blue forest railroad, and the window of the green has disappeared, but the station side is healthy, and a good smell complements the sense of hunger.
We could see the windbreak forest from the home, it was beautiful after the light was up at night.

駅周辺は閑散としてます。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 青い森鉄道とJR大湊線の接続駅です。かつては廃線になった南部縦貫鉄道も発着していました。
駅の西側には鉄道記念物になっている鉄道防雪林があります。
It is a connecting station between the Aoimori Railway and the JR Ominato Line. The Nanbu Jūkan Railway, which was once discontinued, also departed and arrived.
On the west side of the station is the railway snow forest, which is a railway memorial.

八戸〜大間〜横浜と来て青森に抜ける際に休憩地として寄っておこうということで来訪。
そういえばこの野辺地、
1995年にTBSの特番で野辺地ドミノ失敗事件が起こった舞台だったんですよね。

六ケ所村へのバスもここからです。
A station located at the entrance of the Shimokita Peninsula.
The bus to Rokkasho Village is also from here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 青森駅から恐山に向かうために乗り換え駅として利用。
平日の朝だったためか列車はそれなりに混雑していて、その大多数がこの駅で降りて行きました。（青森からこの駅まで通勤の需要がこんなに大きいとは知らなかった。）
一方でJR大湊線の乗客はわずかで、少し寂しいような思いをしました。
青い森鉄道の駅である割には改札を入ってすぐのホームがJR大湊線のホームだったのが面白かったです。
Used as a transfer station to head from Aomori Station to Osorezan.
The trains were rather crowded, probably because it was a weekday morning, and the majority of them got off at this station. (I didn't know that the demand for commuting from Aomori to this station was so great.)
On the other hand, the number of passengers on the JR Ominato Line was small, and I felt a little lonely.
It was interesting that the platform immediately after entering the ticket gate was the platform of the JR Ominato Line, even though it was a station of the Aoimori Railway.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ここから下北半島への路線が出る中継地の駅です。
サッカー日本代表の柴崎岳さんの出身地のようで、
駅前に彼への応援ボードが掲げてありました。
それにしても結構寂しい駅前で、
「こんな小さな町からあんな凄い選手が出たんだな。」
と感慨深いものがありました。
It is a relay station where the line from here to the Shimokita Peninsula leaves.
It seems to be the birthplace of Mr. Takeshi Shibasaki, the representative of Japan for soccer.
There was a support board for him in front of the station.
Even so, in front of the station, which is quite lonely
"There was such a great player from such a small town."
