Prices far too high with so little food and worst of all there is a "table fee" FOR PERSON of 300 yen. We faced the owner about that scam and he laught at us and refuse to do anything. Never coming back, nether my friends or anyone who talks to me about Shinjuku

They serve local customers first and then serve for foreigners. There was American couple but they didn't get anything. The owner gives there beer right before they leave. There was a discrimination for foreigners.

Small restaurant in Omoide Yokochou in Shinjuku. The cuisine is very good. Traditional japanese motsu yaki (roasted inner organs, such as livers, lungs, etc). Usually you have to wait 10-40 minuts because it is always full. Staff cannot speak english. If you like such meals, I can only recommend. They also serve their own lemon sour drink. Delicious.

Awesome little place tucked in Omoide Yokocho. It's hard to miss because it's relatively bigger than the rest of the shops. The staff barely spoke any English and they did not have an English menu, but don't let that stand in the way between this authentic Japanese experience. Must try dishes include the skewers, and black pepper fried noodles. If you can't read Japanese, go for the 8 skewers set - note that if you come in groups (e.g. 2 people), they will serve 4 kinds of skewers with 2 each.

Bit of a tourist trap. Food is a little overpriced and we had to pay a table fee per person (I think it was ¥400 each). The skewers were alright, arrived promptly but despite us asking for separate plates and sauces they refused and asked us to choose one sauce for the whole table. The vibe was nice and there were good amount of locals around, but it felt like there was a different set of rules for them. If you come prepared for that and for indoot smoking, then you might enjoy it more than us

Extraordinarily Japanese experience in this authentic Yakiniku restaurant in the heart of Omoide Yokocho. The patrons here are 90% locals with the occasional tourist looking for a more authentic Japanese experience. It's true that the staff speaks very limited English, but they are friendly and welcoming and they are prepared with an English menu for you to order from. This place is not child friendly (at least in the evening when we went) the same way that you wouldn't bring your children to a bar on Saturday night back home. Folks come here as much to drink as they do to munch on some delicious "bar food." It's eat and drink as you go, so don't hesitate to order a few skewers right when you sit down while you take a look around at what other people are eating before placing your next round of orders. We tried the skewer sampler, macaroni salad, motsunabe, and pickled cabbage, and would recommend all of them depending on your personal tastes. Bottom line is that this place is worth a visit for more adventurous travelers who are willing to (literally) rub elbows with the colorful locals for an immersive cultural experience.

This was a pick of the lottery of beautiful quaint restaurants and we had a wonderful time. The grilled beef and grilled pork was my favourite. The grilled deep-fried tofu was my partner's favourite. Please take this chance to enjoy Umeshu (Plum wine) on the rocks as it will compliment every dish on the menu. To finish off the night, our new friend recommended we try the Stingray fin. It has the texture of jerky and has a sweet flavour. We will make sure to go back on our next trip!

Overall: 3 COVID-19 prevention: 1 Location: 5 Foods: 4 Drinks: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Service: 4 Cost Performance: 3 Smoking: no Tourist Friendly: it depends Credit Card: no Comments: Popular grilled offal restaurant in deep Shinjuku area. Crowded with tourists and local guests. Nikomi (innards stew) is a must-try dish. Unfortunately, no care/attention is paid for COVID-19 prevention...
