SERVICE Unprofessional. 1. While placing down a plate with food, the server was clumsy and dropped 2 pieces onto the table from the plate. He then proceeded to pick one piece up from the table and replace it onto the plate. For the second piece, he took it and offered a discount on the plate, which resulted in a measly 80 yen discount. 2. When another server picked up a finished plate, he also was clumsy and dropped a piece of uneaten food onto my leg and the bench. 3. Yet another server was cleaning the plates from the seat next to my friend, when she dropped a cup and its shattered pieces flew in my friends direction. FOOD Slow, small portions and expensive. Each plate averaged 500 to 750 yen. The plates came out excruciating slowly. We were waiting 15 minutes per plate for each to come out sequentially. And lastly, the flavours do not justify the price and wait.

A lively izakaya that serves good quality food and drinks. The staff knows some English but their hospitality far outweighs the language barrier as they try their best to make every customer feel comfortable. They have a English menu but their Japanese one have more choices. Ordered their signature grilled fish, wagyu beef, fried chicken, grilled rice and potato salad. Also ordered beer and tea which tasted great. The ambience is very comfortable and authentic like what Japanese izakayas should be. When they serve you drinks, they need you to cheers and the whole restaurant staff will cheer with you. A very nice way to start your meal. Everything is prepared in front of you. For instance, we ordered wagyu beef, it will be weighed and cut in front of you. Similarly, the fish is prepared and skewered in front of you and grilled at the main grill in the center. Really amazing experience. We encounter a birthday celebration and the whole restaurant staff sang for the birthday boy. Amazing! Overall, it is the best dining experience I've had so far as it's really memorable and fun.

I really enjoyed this dinner experience. If you can, ask for a seat near the front to see how the staff prepares the food. I think the food and service was fantastic and they were very accommodating to English speakers. The only hard part for me was finding the venue as everything was in Japanese but it’s B1 which is downstairs. For food, I actually really enjoyed the red snapper. Visually the fish may give you nightmares. ? Also, one of the best things on the menu was the onion.

Very good food and overall great experience. The meal is started with a complimentary sushi appetizer. During ordering, we were told the grilled fish was one of the most popular dishes and we thought it was just okay given the higher price (I think it was about 4000 yen). My favourite was the potato salad which is served warm and very different from the North American version that I am used to.

This place is closed to the metro station but we took some time to find the entrance as the restaurant is located a floor down the ground. It’s a small izakaya which is famous for fish dishes. The atmosphere is fabulous with friendly staffs and awesome food/sake. They have an English menu but I don’t think they capture everything in the Japanese menu. Every item we ordered is just brilliant in terms of flavour and presentation. Do not miss the grilled fishes and potato salad. They are why you come to this place. Fabulous.

Wonderful cozy little izakaya, had a delicious sashimi otoshi the day we went. Great selection of sake and fish. Loved the atmosphere and how friendly the staff were. Would definitely come back.

This place is excellent and 100% I would recommend it. The food was great, service stellar and the atmosphere is exactly what you would expect. In particular, I loved the cow tongue we ate. It was expertly cooked and was as tender and flavorful as any cut of beef I’ve ever had. So, so good. Note that it’s better to make a reservation as this place isn’t huge and gets packed quickly.

It was an awesome experience! Our group didn't know much Japanese and they didn't know much English, but we made it work. They have a menu in English with pictures. The staff was very friendly and we got to know some of the locals. It's a relaxed atmosphere with lots of laughing. The food was fantastic, especially the monk fish. It takes a while to prepare but was very tasty with almost a buttery texture.
