The nostalgic SL was exhibited very beautifully. I think it takes a lot of manpower to maintain it.

It's a suburban park and it's quiet. There is a decent parking lot, but please note that it may be full until the evening of the holidays.

「国鉄C12形蒸気機関車（こくてつC12がたじょうききかんしゃ）は、日本国有鉄道（国鉄）の前身である鉄道省が製造した過熱式のタンク式蒸気機関車である。
軸重制限のある簡易線規格路線用の小型軽量な機関車として設計され、本形式からテンダー式のC56形が派生した。」（Wikipediaより）
だそうで、1932年から1947年までに282両が製造されましたが、西尾公園にあるC12230は1939年9月17日に製造されたもののようです。1939年（昭和14年）といえば、第2次世界大戦が勃発した年。他にもアル・カポネがアルカトラズ刑務所から釈放されたり、映画「風と共に去りぬ」が封切られた年でもあります。
なんだかスゴイ年ですね。話を機関車に戻しましょう。
C12230は廃車になる1974年までに約116万キロを走行。これは地球を約29周する距離に匹敵します。名鉄西尾蒲郡線が廃線になるという話も聞こえる昨今ですが、まだ状態も良さそうなこのC12230機関車を西尾蒲郡線に投入するなんてことは…どうなのでしょうか。
吉良や幡豆の田舎を駆け抜ける機関車も絵になるなぁ、なんて思ったりして。ちなみに、線路の幅は国鉄（JR）と名鉄は同じ1067mmだそうですよ。
There is a C12230 steam locomotive.
"The JNR C12 steam locomotive is a superheated tank-type steam locomotive manufactured by the Ministry of Railways, the predecessor of Japan National Railways (JNR).
It was designed as a small and light locomotive for standard line with limited axle load, and the tender type C56 was derived from this model. (From Wikipedia)
That's right, 282 cars were manufactured between 1932 and 1947, but the C12230 in Nishio Park seems to have been manufactured on September 17, 1939. Speaking of 1939 (Showa 14), the year when World War II broke out. It was also the year Al Capone was released from Alcatraz Prison and the movie "Gone with the Wind" was released.
It's a wonderful year. Let's get back to the locomotive.
The C12230 has traveled about 1.16 million kilometers by 1974 when it was scrapped. This is equivalent to about 29 laps around the earth. It has been heard recently that the Meitetsu Nishio Gamagori Line is going to be abandoned, but what about introducing this C12230 locomotive to the Nishio Gamagori Line that still looks good?
Locomotives running through the Kira and Hazu countryside are also picturesque. By the way, it seems that the width of the track is 1067 mm, which is the same as that of the Japanese National Railways (JR) and Meitetsu.
