A shrine within the Nishiki Market. An attraction when you see it from a distance in the alley leading to it.

I wish people would get their English translations checked. The way they tried to communicate "We only sell goshuin on separate pieces of paper" made it sound like they only write them directly on goshuincho and not any random paper; which makes sense and would be a problem for tourists. Otherwise this is a very tourist focused shrine so expect the usual traits of rushedness and confusion that comes with that territory.

The shrine is in the middle of the Nishiki market area, other than great food, the shrine is also a good place to observe how the locals worship and practice their religion. Even though the shire isn't so magnificent as other large temples or bigger shires but it's conveniently located in such a busy business and vibrant area sure make it every easy to access and learn how the locals pay their respect to their gods.

A great shrine visit to start your walk through Nishiki Market. The shrine is small, however still compelling with many lantern in the entrance. I think that this Shinto shrine worships cow as seen in the bronze statue, and you're supposed to touch it's feet for good luck.

We stumbled upon the shrine while checking out the Nishiki Market. It's a beautiful little shrine tucked away amongst busy streets, with water purification, places to make temple offerings and prayers, and there are interesting statues set in the area as well.

One of the Shinto Shrines we have visited. This one is along Nishiki Market. It was small but nice. The water was really cold. I was able to say my very first prayer on a Shinto Shrine here. It was fantastic. And memorable. I also see my very first cherry blossom here. And it's winter still ❤️?
