★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 六ツ石山・鷹ノ巣山間の石尾根はカラ沢のアタマから水根山まで細かいアップダウンが続きますが、この区間内各構成ピークには顕著な特徴はなく小粒の行列といった印象です。
この場所の魅力は、ミズナラやブナなど温帯林を構成する代表的な樹種の、大木が多く立ち並ぶ様子を観察できることにあると思います。
訪れるのにお勧め時期は初夏の新緑時期と秋の紅葉時期です。
初夏は林床にトウゴクミツバツツジが咲きそろうタイミングに合うと、春らしいフレッシュな雰囲気が一層引き立ちます。
秋は比較的地味な黄色に色付くブナやミズナラの葉ですが、うまく日の光を透かして見ることができれば見違えるような金色に輝き、それはとてもきれいです。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 鷹ノ巣山登山にいき、下山する際に通った石尾根ルートにある山になります。
なんとか鷹ノ巣山の山頂にも到達し、山頂には新雪が頂上にも積もっており絶景でした。
積雪している稲村岩尾根は想像をはるかに超えた怖いコースとなっていました。
急斜面で辛いより雪でこわい気持ちのほうが勝ってしまい、
あまり急斜面では疲れませんでした。
帰りは石尾根経由して奥多摩駅へ、、
帰りは非常に楽で雪がクッションがわりとなって膝がまったく痛みませんでした。
ただ下山する際のトラバース時は慎重に行かないと滑落リスク大だと感じました。
行程約15キロの登山道でしたが登りの３キロで約１１００Ｍ昇るのでやはり奥多摩一の急斜面だと感じました

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 鷹ノ巣山から気持ちの良い防火帯の道を過ぎ、ブナやミズナラに囲まれた、静かな1523mのピーク。鷹ノ巣山からΔH＝200m以上、水沢山からΔH＝100mほど下ったことになる。ここも写真を撮らずに通過してしまった。
A quiet peak of 1523m, surrounded by beech and Mizunara, passing a pleasant firebreak road from Mt. Takanosu. It means that ΔH=200m or more from Takanosuyama and ΔH=100m from Mizusawa. I passed through here without taking a picture.
