It is one of the Ramsar sites registered wetlands. Kindergartens and nursery schools in the city, elementary schools, etc. are familiar places for extracurricular learning. You can enjoy the nature. However, people who do not like insects, frogs, etc. are kind of ... Sometimes you may see snakes, antelopes and monkeys, etc.

The construction of the Hokuriku Shinkansen had begun immediately next to it, I am thrilled that the park of Nakaikemi is near Suga by Shiga. I can observe many plants that I have never seen before, like many wild birds and migratory birds. Plants of endangered species are also carefully preserved. The visitor center is also nice.

I knew it existed, but I was surprised because it was larger than I expected. Nakaikemi Wetland was certified by the Ramsar Convention, but it seems that the road to that end was difficult. In particular, the Osaka Gas base problem became a big topic in the local community, but I heard that the situation surrounding the wetland changed greatly due to the change in the economic situation and the return of the property to Tsuruga City. . Personally, the car that travels on National Highway 8 is nothing of disillusionment, but I can't do anything about it. Fortunately, the Hokuriku Shinkansen may have been saved without breaking the wetland. Well, this is a wetland, but it was pioneered as a paddy field in the Edo period, but it was left untouched as a result of the changes of the period that led to leaving this wetland. Anyway, it is rich in nature, and I think that you can come in contact with deep nature throughout the seasons. The visitor center is staffed by staff, so if you don't understand, you can solve it here. In addition, there are two entrances to Nakaikemi Wetland, “Kamagari” on the east side and “Fujigaoka” on the south side. You cannot enter the car from there. Fujigaoka also has a rail car called “Slope Car”, which should be used by those who are not confident in climbing. However, since you will drive by yourself, you should check the explanation carefully. It is strictly prohibited to dump trash or remove it from wooden paths or sidewalks. I visited at the end of summer, but I wanted to visit again in early spring and autumn.

It is a wetland with a very precious nature designated by the Ramsar Convention! In particular, freshwater organisms are extremely abundant, and catfish and oily bitterling can be observed from the garden road. In addition, you can observe a lot of freshwater bivalves such as Anodonta woods and Otanishi, which are rarely seen in recent years due to river improvement in various parts of Japan. The surrounding forests are also subject to conservation along with the wetland areas, making them an important habitat for birds that move between forests such as buzzards and grasslands. There are plenty of events, and I definitely want you to visit when you come to Tsuruga.
