★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tsuruga is a hidden gem, located about 90 minutes northwest of Nagoya. On the outside this warehouse looks quiet, but on the inside there are some fancy restaurants and cafes. It’s a nice place to stop after a day at the beach to get refreshments before you head back.

Minor saving grace is the small petit cafe that had very good cheese tarts! Perhaps outsourced.
