A lot of old-fashioned pottery for export was lined up. It seemed that the technique of painting pottery in the wonderful Seto, Toki, and Tajimi was gradually disappearing, and I felt lonely ~

It is a building with a retro and tasty design. I was surprised that 200 yen was collected just by looking at the gallery ...

Retro buildings make you feel the times. I was not so interested in the ceramics itself, so I did not look closely.

There is an exhibition of pottery from the period immediately after the war. There is also a sale of pottery. Both spaces are small, so I think it's best to stop by for something.

Made in occupied Japan
This is the facility I learned when I went to the Onoyado Horaikan in Shinshiro. It's a building that was constructed (constructed to the last) by the company that created the Horaikan. It is still an active building used by various companies for offices.
It is said that the eastern ward of Nagoya City used to be a base where ceramics from Seto and Tajimi gathered, painted over, and sent products overseas. I found out when I went to the nearby ceramics dealer's mansion, Shumokukan.
I had an interesting look at the ceramics from the Made in occupied Japan era. Also, there was a time when Suntory's zodiac series was made by a company in Nagoya.

Very interesting free museum of pottery
There is a little free parking and easy access
There seems to be an event depending on the time, so I saw a world trip with a picture plate. The picture plate is really beautiful.
It's a very fun and recommended spot where you can buy small pottery for 100 yen.

The surrounding buildings have become taller and less noticeable, but it is a building that tells us that this area was once the base of the export pottery industry in Nagoya, or Japan. The first floor is the former union office, which is now an exhibition space for precious pottery, and retains the atmosphere of a retro-modern office.
Occasionally, a bazaar is held to release the collection.
We recommend a pottery-related excursion with the nearby Kanekikan and Yokoyama Museum.

When I was riding a bicycle in the neighborhood of my house, there was a guide on the road sign I found by chance, so when I stopped by, the old brick building was a registered tangible cultural property and was an important landscape structure, so I built it from the outside. It seems that the admission fee is free when you go home after taking a picture of the building, so let's take a look inside.
