In spring, the slope near the station is gorgeous with cherry blossoms.

かつて、朝倉駅から常滑方面は海岸線に沿う形で電車線がありましたけど、伊勢湾台風で甚大な被害にあったので、海岸を広範囲に埋め立てて、工業地帯になりました。
昭和30年代終わりまでは駅前は海で夏場は海水浴で賑やかでした。
また、海岸の反対側は別荘地だったみたいです。
今はそんな賑わいも無く駅周辺は静かな佇まいです。
It has been an unmanned station for quite some time.
There used to be a train line from Asakura Station to Tokoname along the coastline, but the Isewan Typhoon caused great damage, so the coast was reclaimed extensively and became an industrial area.
Until the end of the Showa 30's, it was lively with the sea in front of the station and swimming in the summer.
Also, it seems that the other side of the coast was a villa.
Nowadays, there is no such bustle and the area around the station is quiet.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 海岸沿いから近寄ると雑草の嵐でとても駅前とは思えないんだけど。まず下車する事ないが無いでしょうと普通電車のみ停車の無人駅。周囲には人家あるも鉄道を使う雰囲気はまるで無い。流石の自動車大国の愛知県です。
When approaching from the coast, weed storms make it hard to believe that it is in front of the station. First of all, it is an unmanned station where only ordinary trains stop if there is no way to get off. There are houses around, but there is no atmosphere of using the railroad. It is Aichi prefecture, which is a major automobile powerhouse.
