★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Naena waterfall is very popular in Niigata prefecture due to the beauty of the waterfall and many leaves that have turned yellow and red in fall season There are no tickets or fees to enter this tourist spot.
The location is around 500 meters from the entrance. We will step up the stairs and pass two suspension bridges. The paths and stairs are comfortable for children and elderly people.
When I went to this place in mid-October, the temperature was cold enough so that do not foreget to bring jacket and umbrella.
Near the entrance there are 2 restaurants, public toilets and parking lot for cars and buses.
Visitors can take a taxi (around ¥ 3,000 one way), public bus or bicycle rental from Myoko-kogen station to the waterfall. More info on the myoko tourism website or Tourist information near the station 20181014.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A beautiful waterfall located on the boarder between Niigata and Nagano prefectures. There is a large parking lot, and the walk to the waterfall is very easy. I recommend getting to the area before 10, as that's when many of the tour groups begin to show up. Very picturesque!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Family friendly pathway up to the viewing kiosk. Even a 3-year old can easily navigate the trail, pass 2 stairways and hanging bridges. Took us 20 minutes one way.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A nice little walk from parking to this charming fall. The small suspension bridge gives it a little dimension. Walking through the wood on the way there also quite nice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really good waterfall, close from the parking. The scenery and view is wonderful. Worth the visit. You can also enjoy fishing and eat fresh fish roast it on fire.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The hike wasn’t that difficult. You will be crossing two bridges. A lot of children and elderly people were able to do it easily. If you want to swim I suggest you go during a sunny weather. There is no path going directly near the waterfalls. You have to go through the big rocks if you really want to go near it. If you are there to just take a picture and breathe in the beauty of the it then the waterfalls is worth the hike.
