★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 2019年12月に訪問しました。無人駅です。2015年（平成27年）3月14日の北陸新幹線長野金沢駅間延伸開業に伴い、JR西日本からえちごトキめき鉄道へ移管されたとのことです。クリスマスの日の夜、出張で当地を訪れるために糸魚川駅からえちごトキめき鉄道（日本海ひすいライン）に乗り、当駅で下車しました。1両編成ではありましたが、車内は地元の方々と思われる人がわりと多く乗っていましたが、下車したのは私一人だけでした。1日の平均乗車人員はここ最近、100人を下回っているとのことです。ホームから引き戸を開けて、階段を下ったところに待合室がありました。わりと広い待合室でしたが、こちらにも誰もいなく、寂しさは否めませんでしたが、地元の方々によるものと思われるクリスマスの飾り付けなどがあり、微笑ましく感じました。駅前はひっそりとしていて、駅に迎えに来たと思われる車が数台止まっているのみでした。
Visited in December 2019. It is an unmanned station. With the opening of the Hokuriku Shinkansen between Nagano Kanazawa Station on March 14, 2015, it was transferred from JR West to Echigo Tokimeki Railway. On the night of Christmas, I took the Echigo Toki Meki Railway (Nihonkai Hisui Line) from Itoigawa Station to get here on a business trip and got off at this station. Although it was a one-car train, there were a lot of people who seemed to be local people in the car, but only I got off. The average daily crew has been below 100 people recently. Opening the sliding door from the platform, there was a waiting room down the stairs. Although it was a relatively large waiting room, there was no one here and I couldn't deny loneliness, but there were Christmas decorations that seemed to be caused by local people, and I felt smiled. The station was quiet, with only a few cars that seemed to have picked up at the station.
