He shared thoughtful background about each sake as well as the story of Mujo’s constantly evolving food dishes. The aged tofu and the mushroom dish were some of the tastiest I’ve ever had! We enjoyed conversing with Tatsuki and some local guests. It made for a special date night that we’ll remember!

The manager speaks fantastic English and is happy to share his knowledge with you. The sakes I had here were the better than anything else I had in Japan. It is very affordable to try a few different sakes an have some food too, which is also delicious!

You can enjoy a wide variety of sake and shochu, both classic and new ones and also seasonal ones (some are on the menu but there are a lot more behind the counter, so just ask for it!), with lovely dishes that go very well with drinks. The owner can speak English fluently and willing to share his knowledge and also can recommend drinks to your taste, so it’s a great place to explore new flavours. The place is rather small with only counter seats, but you’ll definitely enjoy talking with the owner as well as random chats with regular customers like myself! Highly recommend!
