It was a long time ago old house. It's natural considering the time of Professor Ogai Mori. It was an ordinary house for a military doctor who brought up a genius writer. It doesn't seem that parents are rich or wealthy. I'm sure he was a genius, but he read a lot of books and made an effort.

This is the house where Ogai Mori lived when he was 10 years old until he moved to Tokyo. It is a compact house because it used to be. The room where Ogai studied is open to the public. It's simple. The garden is large by that amount. The garden is completely surrounded. Various flowers are planted.

The house where Bungo Mori Ogai of the Meiji era used to live. Some places are off limits, but you can visit. It is currently on the site of the Mori Ogai Memorial Museum.

The Mori family is the lord of the Tsuwano domain, and the basic education at the Tsuwano domain's school Yorokan seems to have formed the basis of Ogai's studies later. Also, a relative of the Mori family is Nishi Amane, a philosopher, who is also studying at the Yorokan. Ogai relies on Nishi Amane to go to Tokyo. I noticed that the layout and atmosphere of the former residence of Ogai Mori in Kokura, Kitakyushu, and the birthplace of Ogai in Tsuwano are very similar. Since there were few tourists, I was able to quietly remember Ogai. The Tsuwano River runs behind the old Ogai house, and when you stand on the bank, you can see the red-painted main shrine of Taikodani Inari Shrine. Kamei Korenori, the feudal lord who built the foundation of the Tsuwano domain more than 400 years ago, was born in Izumo in 1557 (Koji 3), and his father is Amago's vassal Yuzaemon Nagatsuna. Yukimori Yamanaka, who fought with his father, acknowledged Kamei Korenori's extraordinary talent and married his adopted daughter Tokiko. Tokiko is the second daughter of Amago's chief retainer, Kamei Hidetsuna, and Shinjuro (Kamei Korenori) inherits Kamei's name and calls himself Kamei. In other words, Yamanaka Yukimori, who fought bravely at Tsukiyama Tomita Castle and spent his life reviving Amago, is the father-in-law of Tsuwano feudal lord Kamei Korenori, and his sister Tokiko's wife is married to Kamei. , The two are also brother-in-laws. It was surprising because there is a 240km drive from the same Shimane prefecture, from Gassantoda Castle (Hirosecho, Yasugi City, Shimane Prefecture), where Amago's residence is, to Tsuwano. When I visited Tsuwano, I learned that the Kamei family, who was the lord of the domain, was a vassal of Amago and was a parent and child of Kasuke Yamanaka and his father-in-law, and I was able to understand the spirit and spirit of the domain where Ogai grew up. feel like. The poetry monument set up in the garden of the old house was written by Haruo Sato and wrote the poem of Ogai's "Button".
