★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 昭和二十五年五月十日に告示された「茨城百景」の碑「鹿島神宮景勝地碑」です。
指定名「鹿島神宮景勝地」
包含風景「神宮橋，根本寺，広望館，神宮原始林，鎌足神社，息栖神社，下津平井海岸」
旧鹿島郡の５つある指定の１つ。現在の鹿島市にある唯一の碑です。鹿嶋市の指定は、この碑と、神栖市と鹿嶋市２ヶ所にまたがる指定の「鹿島砂丘と神の池」の２ヶ所となります。
この碑は、塚原卜伝生誕の地である、鹿詰公園内に設置されています。
旧鹿島郡には、他に「鹿島砂丘と神の池」「利根河口」「無量寿寺」「北浦の景観と水郷鉾田」が茨城百景として指定されています。

One of the five designations of former Kashima-gun. It is the only monument in the current Kashima city. The designation of Kashima City is two places, "Kashima dune and God's pond" designated by this monument and two places in Kamisu city and Kashima city.
This monument is installed in the Deko Park, which is the place of Tsukahara Tigeru's birth place.
In addition to the former Kashima-gun, "Kashima sand dune and God's pond" "Tone root estuary" "Immortals temple" "Kitaura landscape and Suigo Hokota" are designated as one hundred sceneries of Ibaraki.
