Unbelievably clean solid air through by ancient forest. Worth to see beautiful old trees and complexed wooden architecture.

A shrine having great view. You can enjoy some traditional Japanese foods here and enjoy the nature environment. Be careful about the schedule of the train as it depart every 30 mins. It takes near an hour form Narita and the JR tokyo wide pass is recommended. If you have time you can also visit the Kotori Shrine near by.

You get to see where there is a huge rock planted deep to stop awful earthquakes from happening; many shrines to visit; good food restaurants, plenty of parking space areas nearby for about 800 yen; very friendly environment, many people who can speak English to help with tourism.

It was 300 km drive from Tokyo.I missed driving long distance so it was ok. This spot is known for power spot. The sounds of wind, birds singing nearby and fresh air. What’s a nice weekend gateway.

Kashima Jingu is the most famous shrine in this area. Highest grade of shrine is called “Jingu”. It’s first time for me to visit here. Path in the saint forest impressed me so much because of its atmosphere which is so hard to explain. This shrine is one of the spots I recommend most in Ibaraki prefecture. Don’t miss it!

Shinto Kashima Jingu Shrine is a quiet & calming place. It's look like a huge shrine in the middle of jungle. You can learn a lot of local wisdom & Japan history from this area. I came here for the first time in 2013, when I joined a student exchange programme between Indonesia & Japan, organized by JPF (Japan Foundation), JICE (Japan International Cooperation Center) & JTB (Japan Travel Bureau).
