It is an interesting castle ruin directly connected to the Shinkansen. Shin-Kobe Station is also directly connected to sightseeing spots. However, I think that it is because JR passed through in a way that divides the ruins of the castle, but you can see the ruins of the castle wall and the moat near Aeon in the southeast. This is a mechanism that is reminiscent of Kofu Station. Personally, I prefer to look for castle ruins scattered around the city rather than the ruins of castles directly connected to the Shinkansen. Please try it if you like. The station is prosperous on the south side, and there are Aeon and electronics stores within walking distance. National highway No. 2 is not far away. If you go out from the station to the national highway and go to the left, you will find Onomichi Fukuyama, and if you go to the right, you will find Saigo, Hongo, and Hiroshima, which are very easy to understand. The main street that extends south from the station is fun and good. It's good to stay at hotels, etc. with the expectation that they are old because they are old. If you can understand the age, you can stay at a good hotel cheaply as a location condition.

Continued 100 Fine Castles in Japan No. 172 It is said that the castle was maintained and built by Takakage Kobayakawa around 1567. At that time, there was no landfill and the castle faced the Seto Inland Sea, and at high tide the castle seemed to float. It is a place where you can see that it was a base that emphasized shipping such as the navy and logistics. Currently, there are only remains of the stone wall of the castle tower and its moat, so it is not enough for a castle. It is possible to get out on the castle tower from inside the station. Meijo stamps can be stamped at the tourist information center near the south exit. Please note that there is no private parking lot.

Not much more than a green platform. Not worth visiting...

A really small park to hang around when you are waiting for the next train.

It’s now just a park. Come if u have time to spare. It takes less than 5 mins to get there. It’s right at the back of the Mihara-Shi JR station.
