★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 府中街道から薬師堂へ行くための道標。この土地にも薬師信仰があったことがわかる史跡です。薬師堂の脇には春日大社(1172年頃金立)があるので、この地に古くから人が多く住んでいたことがわかります。薬師如来は国分寺の本尊になるくらい時の権力者に利用されている仏様なので、この地が地元の人たにに大切にされていた場所なのでしょう。
石碑は電柱の陰にありわかりにくい場所にありました。案内板もないので見落しまいそうです。薬師堂とセットで文化財の指定をしたほうがよかったと思います。
A signpost to go to Yakushido from Fuchu Highway. It is a historic site that you can see that this land also had Yakushi faith. Since there is Kasuga Taisha (around 1172) at the side of Yakushido, you can see that many people have lived here since ancient times. Yakushi Nyorai is a Buddha that is used by the people of the time to become the principal of Kokubunji, so this is a place that was treasured by local people.
The stone monument was behind the telephone pole and was in a confusing place. There is no information board, so it seems to be overlooked. I think it would be better to specify cultural properties in combination with Yakushido.
