★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Eat the set meal. It is simply magical. Service was incredible and prices are more than reasonable. I've eaten at Michelin star restaurants and this meal was honestly one of the best meals I've ever had.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Find this place whilst staying at Kyoto Brighton hotel which is a short walk away, we tried it by chance and was really impressed.
As well as the regular menu they do a daily special menu that has a selection of items on the menu including an array of local delicacies, sushi, tempura, noodles and more which is excellent, great portions and good value, highly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A three minute walk from Brighton Hotel. Good honest food. Not high brow Japanese. But very local. Described by my wife as Rustic. Couldn't get in last night. Full of locals. Always a good sign. Noodles were great. Sashimi was fine. Tempura was good. Service was really nice. English menu. Ambience definitely local, well used and very friendly. Fairly priced. Overall a good experience

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This cozy izakya is exactly what I was wanting to experience when I came to Japan. We ordered the set menu and enjoyed the feast! The food was excellent and the service was great too. We arrived shortly after it opened (17.00) and am glad we did. There are only a few tables and the restaurant was full by 17.30.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Delicious Udon Restaurant. Mostly locals because of its accessibility. Must try the eggplant and beef! Would avoid the dried firefly squid if you don’t appreciate the delicacy.
