You can have a good feeling for the remote atmosphere. Perhaps it was the base of the people who pioneered this land. We came while thanking for safety during travel.

The name of Kita-Shirakawa Miyanohisa is the ancestor of Kita Karuizawa development. In 1882 (Meiji 15), we started a vast farm development including the current Asama Farm, changed the wasteland into a farm, and laid the foundation for the development of Kita Karuizawa.
Makimiya Shrine is the shrine dedicated to this Kita-Shirakawa protagonist. The predecessor of the shrine begins with the arrival of Fushimi Inari Shrine in 1933. After that, in 1947 (Showa 22), Kita-Shirakawa Miyanohisa, the spirit of the life of Kuraine Tamashii, was welcomed, and the shrine name was changed to "Makinomiya Shrine", which is named after Kita-Shirakawa Prince.
Kita-Shirakawa-gu is a person who had great achievements as an army soldier, and was sent to Taiwan during the Sino-Japanese War and was sick and killed on the ground. In honor of that honor, the Taiwan shrine (Taiwan Shrine), which celebrated the palace, was established in Taipei, and the Tainan Shrine was founded at the end. After the war, all of these shrines in Taiwan were closed. After the discussion with the president and the priest at the time, he welcomed the Holy Spirit to the land of Kita Karuizawa and sought to remember the virtues of Kita-Shirakawa-miya for a long time.
