★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 開田高原には、あらゆる角度から御嶽山を望めるスポットがあちこちに点在します。この角度からの眺めは、手前の山が低い事もあり素晴らしいですね。
The Kaida Plateau is dotted with spots where you can see Mt. Ontake from all angles. The view from this angle is wonderful because the mountain in the foreground is low.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 御嶽山を眺望できる展望台。名前の通り峠にあるが前後の区間は道幅1.5車線の狭い道なので対向車とのすれ違いには気を遣う。ただ走りたくなる道なので、観光ドライブがてら訪れたい場所。
An observatory with a view of Mt. Ontake. As the name suggests, it is on a pass, but the front and rear sections are narrow roads with a width of 1.5 lanes, so be careful about passing by oncoming vehicles. It's just a road that makes you want to drive, so it's a place you'll want to visit if you have a sightseeing drive.

木曽福島から高山に抜ける場合は良い。

木曽福島から高山に抜けていく方向に走って行くと、急に景色が開けて御嶽山が一望出来ます。非常にドライブしていて楽しい瞬間です。 その景色が開けたところに展望台の駐車場があります。3～4台停められるという感じです。 駐車場からも景色は十分よいですが、少し下ってせり出している展望台の景色は更に良いです。 ちなみに高山から木曽福島に抜ける場合には御嶽山が後ろ側の構図になってしまい、景色が開ける感じはありません。

If you run in the direction of going from Kiso Fukushima to Takayama, the scenery will suddenly open and you can see Mt. Ontake. It's a very driving and fun moment. There is a parking lot for the observatory in the open area. It feels like 3-4 cars can be parked. The view from the parking lot is good enough, but the view of the observatory that protrudes a little is even better. By the way, when going from Takayama to Kiso-Fukushima, Mt. Ontake will be in the composition on the back side, and there is no feeling that the scenery will open.
