★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 桃山時代の1,594年に西本願寺前の堀川正面上ル東側で創業された薬種商です。日本最古の御香調進所として420年にわたり営業されています。歴史を感じる趣のある建物です。
1階に高級なお線香やお香、香木、焼香、ろうそくなど仏前商品を幅広く取り揃えておられ、2階には日常使いの一筆箋や匂袋、香道具の他、
アロマオイル、石鹸などの応用商品などが販売されています。スタッフさんが丁寧に説明してくださり、相談しながら商品を選ぶことができます。
また、90分 \2,500- にて店内の茶室において聞香体験ができます。10日前までの事前予約制であり、2021年11月現在はコロナ禍のため開催が見合わされております。
常連のお客様が続々と来店される他、観光客の方々も訪れる素敵なお店です。西本願寺を詣られた際には必ず寄りたいお店です。店内に漂うお香の香りに癒されます。
各種クレジットカードを使用できますが、電子決済には対応されておりません。店内撮影禁止です。
It is a drug dealer founded in 1594 during the Momoyama period on the east side of Horikawa in front of Nishi Honganji Temple. It has been in operation for 420 years as Japan's oldest incense training center. It is a quaint building where you can feel the history.
On the 1st floor, you can find a wide range of high-class incense sticks, incense sticks, incense sticks, incense sticks, candles, and other Buddhist altar products.
Applied products such as aroma oils and soaps are on sale. The staff will explain carefully and you can choose the product while consulting.
In addition, you can experience incense in the tea room in the store for 90 minutes \ 2,500-. It is a reservation system up to 10 days in advance, and as of November 2021, the event has been postponed due to the Corona disaster.
It is a wonderful shop that regular customers visit one after another and tourists also visit. This is a shop that you definitely want to visit when you visit Nishi Honganji Temple. You will be healed by the scent of incense floating in the store.
Various credit cards can be used, but electronic payment is not supported. Shooting inside the store is prohibited.

Wide range of incense and attentive staff, who were happy to answer questions and light samples. Be sure to head to the second floor; the products on the first floor are intended for home alters.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Okay products as far as Japanese incense is concerned. Very high cost, stuffy environment, cold service from staff. I prefer smaller producers with wider verities of fragrances. Go to Kohgen for a much better experience, with more options. Kyoto also has several smaller makers. For more general , but good, go to Shoyeido
