大日寺の境内に入り、本堂の傍にある祠に近づくと盛土が見えてきます。ただ、この見学方法では墳頂を見る事は出来ますが石室を見る事が出来ません。石室は本堂の中庭にあるのですが本堂の横に勝手口があり、そこから入るのですが入って良いのかどうかは悩みましたが、万一指摘があればお詫びと説明をしようという考えで入っています。古墳についての現地説明はありませんが円墳・全長8.3M・高さ1.5M・玄室長6Mの右片袖式であるのは、図書館などにある地域の史跡書から調べることが出来ます。お寺にある古墳らしく内部には石仏が何体か祀られており跨いで奥に行くことは避けましたが、何百年過ぎても崩壊していない高度な造りに感心します。お寺なので駐車場があるかなと思いましたが訪れた際に駐車場らしき場所が見当たらず、堂山古墳と標識のある火の見櫓の下が停車可能そうでしたので停車し訪れてます。また加西市には２つの大日寺があり、野上町の同名寺には隠れキリシタンが信仰の為に偽装した異形石仏群が境内に残っています。

When you enter the precincts of Dainichi Temple and approach the shrine next to the main hall, you will see the embankment. However, you can see the burial mound, but you cannot see the stone room. Ishimuro is located in the courtyard of the main hall, but there is a self-service entrance next to the main hall, and I entered from there, but I was worried whether it was OK to enter, but if there were any indications I would like to apologize and explain it ____ is inside. There is no local explanation about the tumulus, but the right-sleeved type with a tumulus, 8.3M in length, 1.5M in height, and 6M in length can be found from local historical books in libraries and other places. Some stone Buddhas are enshrined inside the temple, like a tumulus, and we avoided straddling it, but we are impressed with the advanced structure that has not collapsed for hundreds of years. I thought that there was a parking lot because it was a temple, but when I visited, I could not find a place that seems to be a parking lot, and it seems that it is possible to stop under the Doyama ancient tomb and the fire watching tower with a sign so I stopped and visited. There are two Dainichi-ji temples in Kasai city, and the same name temple in Nogami-cho still has a group of deformed stone Buddhas disguised by hidden Christians for their religion.
