In the center of Sendai, fossils of trees about 3 million years ago (the latter half of the Tertiary Pliocene) can be seen up close. It looks like a cypress family.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A beautiful river side, 10-15 min by walk from Tohoku University (Katahira Campus).
Natural river melody is soothing to hear.
Beautiful hydrangeas, Callistephus chinensisa (China Aster/ Aster Chinesis/ Aster Pompon), sacred bamboo flowers can be spotted.
I walked there first time on 12 June 2021 in evening time. Such a wonderful moments I had there.
