★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing place. The inside is small, but that makes it feel more welcoming. The owner was extremely kind and we had a great time there. There is regular western seating as well as Japanese seating on tatami mats. The Japanese breakfast was super tasty!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Perfect place for breakfast as it opens at 7:30am. The morning menu offers either Western or Japanese breakfast. The fish offered with the Japanese breakfast were salmon or mackerel. Served with rice, miso soup and a noodle-like condiment, it was healthy, delicious and robust. Great for filling up before the arduous walk through Kiyomizu-Higashiyama. Highly rated on many food/travel web portals, come and be awed!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cute cafe clearly in the front of the owner's home. Breakfast here was cheap and a perfect size - though the "Western" breakfast was a very Japanese interpretation of western. Lovely place to start the day.

great atmosphere, delicious food and a fantastic host to take care of us :)
we had a typical Japanese breakfast and a more western chocolate cake: they were both good looking and tasty.
