★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 学校が近くにあるという事で、朝と夕方には学生で溢れています。しかし日中は地方の駅より人が少し多い程度で閑散としています。利用者が少ないので自動改札機も少ないです。駅周辺にはお店が全くありません。隣の池袋を利用した方が良いです。
 Because the school is nearby, there are many students in the morning and evening. However, during the day there are few people than local stations and it is quiet. There are few automatic ticket gates because there are few users. There are no shops around the station. It is better to use the next Ikebukuro.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 駅周辺は土地区画の狭い住宅街が広がっていて商業施設はほとんどありませんが、1駅乗れば池袋なので買い物に困ることはありません。最近、新しい道路を駅の東西に通して踏切との交差部分を地下化することで開かずの踏切を解消し、あわせて駅前に広場を作る計画が進んでいるようです。

階段の登り下りが大変。エレベーターあり、トイレ和式あり

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 東武東上線の池袋から１つ目の駅。以前は駅前に小さな商店街が2つあり生活に便利だったが、今は近隣の大型店に圧されてしまい、寂しい限り。近隣住民は少し足を伸ばして大型てんでの買い物を余儀なくされている。近年、近くの小学校と中学校が合併し池袋本町小中学校になった事からも少子化の波がおしよせている。
The first station from Ikebukuro on the Tobu-Tojo Line. There used to be two small shopping streets in front of the station, which was convenient for living, but now I'm lonely because I'm overwhelmed by the large stores nearby. Neighbors are forced to go a little further and shop at large stores. In recent years, the declining birthrate has been declining due to the merger of nearby elementary and junior high schools into Ikebukurohoncho elementary and junior high school.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 北池袋駅の南北には開かずの踏切があります。東武東上線だけでなく埼京線も走っているのでなかなか列車が途切れません。
