★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I stopped here only because I rode the Shinjuku-Shonan train in the wrong direction. But, I made it an adventure by exploring the area around the station, and was great. I was able to dine. The employees at the station were very kind in giving me information. When I return to Japan I will stay in Ikebukoru ?

There are no bad food here.
If you wanna eat and culinary life, find a hotel in this area. APA is nice. Airbnb home is amazing around the area. Plus! It’s not far from shibuya and any other fantastic area. Yamanote line district ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So much people in rush hour. But as a tourist, I like the complex that connects you to so many shops (Good on a rainy day). Don't forget to stop by the booths inside the station. You might be able to find some treasure there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ikebukuro station gets busy. Do keep that in mind. For me, it's the busiest station that I can comfortably deal with, and here's why: while there is a lot of people, it's not consistently packed like some other stations. You can still get around, find your station exit or specific line, and have a ton of shops to explore. It's lively, energetic, and quite good.
Also, some of the overnight buses stop by Ikebukuro Station. So if you're going from Tokyo to Kyoto, depending on your itinerary, you may need to stop at this station to catch your bus nearby. I took the overnight bus from Kyoto to Ikebukuro station. Quiet convenient.
