K	Kaori Nishimaki on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We went there on the 14th of February. The rate of blooming and atmosphere was wonderful at that time. Especially in this year (2021) unfortunately the festival was cancelled so it might have been less people than normal.

They also have brighter pink petals than the common variety. Located on Kawazu, Shizuoka prefecture, just about 3 hours by train from Tokyo. The Kawazu Sakura Festival is held every year on February-March. Definitely worth to visit?

If you are photographer then can take perfect capture of train, river, sakura all together and thats really amazing view! And don’t miss the orange(Many types)juice stalls!!

With rapeseed blooms a bright sunny day gets even better! Due to Corona, less crowds than usual...which also meant local businesses are suffering. :( So, better to buy local Mikan/lemons and support local businesses. Yummy fresh Sakura mochi. On a good weather day, nice to picnic sitting on the river bed. Lots of sitting space (the river bed is rocky...) and chance to play in the water.
G	Gerhard Wunderler on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great to have the sakura trees blooming again... it's soon getting warmer and winter is over! Kawazu is one of the earliest places to go to see this wonderful transformation. Can be crowded on weekends as people come by buses from afar!
