★ ★ ★ ★ ★ この神社の境内には人を恐れない野良猫(地域猫)が住み着いていて子猫などは寄って来て遊びを要求する。
猫には子猫が大人の猫になる間に人間でいうところの小中学生にあたる時期がある。
神社境内で、うさん臭そうに私を見つめる大人の猫の間から遊びに寄ってきた猫がいた。
子猫ではないけれど、大人の猫ではない人間の小学生のような猫だった。
しばらく遊んだあと別れるときに塀の脇で見送ってくれた姿を写真に撮り、スプレー画にしました。
赤羽の稲付台地にある稲付香取神社はこの地区の鎮守。(写真)
歴史の古い神社で近くに大きな亀ヶ池があり、崖下を川が流れていた。
その川に稲が流れてきて止まったので稲付と呼ばれているそうだ。
入口には古い狛犬がいるが、どういうわけか「あ・うん」の狛犬のはずが両方とも口が開いており「あ・あ」の狛犬となっているのはなぜか。(写真)

「香取神社本殿
香取神社本殿は、境内東側に位置する拝殿の後ろに設けられた本殿覆屋の中に安置されています。朱塗りの三間社流造で、屋根は柿葺きです。石の亀腹の上に土台が据えられ、その上に高さ約10尺、奥行約八・三尺の社殿が建てられています。香取神社は経津主神・大山咋神・建御名方神を祭神としています。『新編武蔵風土記稿』には「村の鎮守とす、長二尺六寸許の石を神体となせり」と記述され、旧稲付村の鎮守でした。稲付村は十七世紀半ばの郷帳(『武蔵田園簿』)に「御神領」と記され、東叡山寛永寺領に属していました。また、当社とも関係の深い法真寺(赤羽西二丁目)の開山證道院日寿は、東照宮の造営にも深く関与した南光坊天海の弟だったとも言われています。このため、香取神社の本殿は、この近辺に暮らす人びとに、上野東照宮の本殿(内陣)を移築したものだと古くから信じられています。上野東照宮の本殿とは、徳川将軍家が東叡山寛永寺を造営した際に藤堂高虎(津藩初代藩主)が建てたもので、その事業には徳川御三家が協力し、寛永四年(一六二七)に落成したことが知られています。」
「稲付村の力石

Inazuki-mura was described as "God's territory" in the book of the middle of the seventeenth century ("Musashida-en-sho") and belonged to Kanei-ji temple territory of Higashieizan. Also, the six stones are engraved with the name "Romegoro Ogawa". Rugoro is a member of the Ogawa family of Nekoya near the site of Ichirizuka, Inazuki Village. He is said to have been strong and worked as a village sumo Ozeki. The name can be seen in the volunteer names of the "Russian Monument for Russo-Japanese War", erected in May of the Meiji Thirty-Six Years (Issue 6), beside the stone torii gate. 境内には複数基の力石もあった。
一つに「五十五貫目(約205キロ)」と刻むが,力石は,往々にして「実際に重さを測ってみたら,全然数字が違うじゃないか」ということもあるので,あまり刻字を鵜吞みにできるものではない。
案内板に「小川留五郎」に関する情報がある。力石に刻まれた人物の来歴がはっきりと分かり,かつ,この様に公に知らされているものは珍しい方である。明治時代にも力石を持ち上げる風習が続いていたことを示す史料になるかと思われる。
香取神社本殿は北区指定有形文化財。これを見に来たが,非公開であった。取り敢えず,調べた情報を載せる。

He is said to have high academic morals, an elegant personality, and was loved by everyone. He came to Inatsuki Village in August 1869 and stayed there to teach his son. It was the villagers' wish that he became the chief priest of Hoshoji Temple in October 1874. In August 1876, he quit his job as a priest and established Kobayashi Elementary School, where he devoted himself to education.
