創建は大同２年（807）、奈良の春日神社から分祀して青沼の地に建てられました。
御祭神は、武甕雷命・経津主命・天児根命・姫大神命
普段は静かな神社ですが毎年11月23日に行われます。4つの地区が順番で当番地区となりどぶろくづくりを行うどぶろく祭りではとても賑わいます。
どぶろくは神前に供えて祭事を行い、氏子だけではなく参拝者にも振舞われます。
