★ ★ ★ ★ ★ この神社は、舘山寺の隣にある「愛宕神社」の奥宮とされている神社で、石の社を、石の垣根で囲った造りになっています。御祭神は「火之加具土(ﾋﾉｶｸﾞﾂﾁ)」であり、この神社では「赤石」を御神体として社の中に納められています。
「火之加具土(ﾋﾉｶｸﾞﾂﾁ)」は、伊邪那岐と伊邪那美の間に生まれた神様で、この神様は「火之神」であったことで、伊邪那美が産み落とす時に、陰部を焼かれてしまい、その火傷がもとで神去って(死んで)しまい、怒り狂った伊邪那岐に首を跳ねられて、殺されてしまいました。その時の剣から流れ落ちる血液から、雷神であり剣の神、また「大国主命(ｵｵｸﾆﾇｼ)」に国を譲らせた「建御雷之男神(ﾀｹﾐｶｽﾞﾁﾉｵ)」が生まれました。その他にも多くの神様も生まれました。
