First visit on January 2, 2021. It is less than 5 minutes on foot from JR Takatsuka Station. There is an estimated 500-year-old vertebrate tree, and the shrine and annex are unified in vermilion, and the site is not large, but it has a nice atmosphere. The parking lot is large and gravel but fully equipped. Those who worship by car should be careful because the road is narrow. I tried to buy a rake, but it wasn't for sale. Next time, I would like to bring my stamp book with me when I visit.

Kumano Shrine in Yatagarasu. Wheelchair users will be afraid at the torii gate from the stairs, but you can go up the slope from the left side. The gravel is so tight that you will have a hard time, but you can go to the precincts properly, so don't worry. Yatagarasu, it's amazing ... There seems to be something good, the main shrine with beautiful vermilion, early in the morning, so I was able to relax without people. The office starts from 8am. It's a little distracting to step on the white gravel, but he kindly responded. Yatagarasu fortune is a little real

About a thousand years ago, in the Heian period, it was a shrine that solicited Kumano Gongen from Kumano Shrine in Kishu, and was called Kumanosanzan Gongen. During the Ansei era at the end of the Edo period, the priest dreamed of telling him to "build a high hill and save the people," and the villagers cooperated to evacuate the area. It is said that many lives were saved from the tsunami caused by the great earthquake. According to one theory, the victims of the Ansei tsunami were buried, and the sand on the beach was raised to build a high mound. As the saying goes, Takatsuka Kumano Shrine itself is built at an altitude of about 9m, and in the east of the main shrine there is an old giant tree with an altitude of about 12m (high mound) with "Omiyayama" on the signboard. Is growing. The place name of "Takatsuka" is said to be derived from this earthen mound, and it makes me think that the name of Takatsuka Kumano Shrine itself means "Kumano Shrine built on a high mound". The origin of the place name "Takatsuka" was "Tsunami mound" in the Edo period. [Photo 1] Haiden and 500-year-old Shinboku (far left) [Photo 2] A view of Takatsuka Kumano Shrine from the back, with the main shrine on the far right. You can see the state of the "high mound" well [Photo 3] At the top of the "high mound", the altitude is about 12m.

There is a free parking lot and there is a red stamp. It's not a big shrine, but I visited Kumano just before, such as Yatagarasu and Nagi no Ki, which are common to Kumano. I'm happy.

Takatsuka Kumano Shrine The construction is unknown, but it is said that it was in the Enkyu period (1069-1074). It is the reign of Emperor Gosanjo and Emperor Shirakawa. The hall of worship is about 2 minutes from Takatsuka Station on the Tokaido Main Line, but Ichinotorii faces the old Tokaido. The following is an excerpt from the homepage of Takatsuka Kumano Shrine and posted. It is said that our company was founded during the Enkyu era (about 940 years ago) of Emperor Go-Sanjo, and it is said that the priest of Kumano Hongu in Kishu Wakayama stopped and worshiped at this place during the pilgrimage to each country. It was praised as the company's current. At one point, the priest had a mysterious dream of "building a high hill and saving people," so he and the villagers raised the soil in the mountains behind the shrine. After that, the "Great Ansei Earthquake" occurred and many people died due to the tsunami, but it is said that the people of this village evacuated to this hill and escaped the difficulties. Another theory is that the victims of the great tsunami were buried here and a lot of sand was carried from the beach (the origin of the beach kori) and a tall tomb was built. Since it was a large (high) tomb, it was called a large tomb and later Takatsuka, and it is said that it became a place name.

It is in front of JR Takatsuka Station. Although it is a small shrine, the vermilion color is beautiful and it is visited for the first time every year. There is a parking lot, but not many can be parked. You should go by train. There is "refreshing" in a place that takes less than 10 minutes on foot.
