情緒あふれる小江戸川越の蔵造りの町並みにひときわ高くそびえるのが川越のシンボル｢時の鐘｣です。
蔵造りの町並み｢一番街｣と同様に、城下の頃の面影を残す建造物で、江戸時代初頭から城下の町に時を告げ、庶民に親しまれてきた鐘つき堂で、残したい日本の音風景百選に認定されています。
この鐘は６時・１２時・１５時・１８時と１日４回鳴ります。
鐘つき通りは浴衣姿の人達でも賑わっており、よく冷えた小江戸ビールの販売も行われています。
生ビールを飲みながら散策する人もけっこういますね。
I went to Kanetsuki-dori in Kawagoe last summer.
Kawagoe's symbol "Toki no Kane" stands out in the atmosphere of Koedo Kawagoe's brewery townscape.
Similar to the brewery townscape "Ichibancho", it is a building that retains the remnants of the castle, and it is a bell tower that has been familiar to the common people since the beginning of the Edo period. It has been certified as one of the 100 Soundscapes of Japan.
This bell rings four times a day at 6:00, 12:00, 15:00, and 18:00.
Kanetsuki-dori is crowded with people wearing yukata, and cold Edo beer is also sold.
There are quite a few people who take a walk while drinking draft beer.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 時の鐘のふもとにある蔵づくりの街並みが残る通り。洒落たスターバックスや行列のできるさつまいもチップスの小江戸おさつ庵、コスパよくCOEDOビールを飲める舛屋酒店(ここは接客で低評価ついてますが生ビールがとにかく安い良店)、右門のいも恋、アイスクリームにアクセサリー工房といろいろな店が軒を連ねています。
