市指定文化財に認定されている石棺仏に立ち寄ってみました。住宅地の道路脇に目的の石仏外にも五輪塔を含む様々な石造物が並んでおり、思った以上に賑やかなことになっています。現地の説明板では鎌倉時代の可能性とされていますが市のHPを確認すると南北朝時代と制作時期の食い違いがあり、鎌倉後期から南北朝前期あたりに彫られた作品と個人的に補完しています。各地域にある石棺仏の一つですが、この場所の特徴に浮彫地蔵菩薩と梵字が彫られた石棺仏もあり、それらが指定文化財になってないのか不思議なのですが、訪れた際はそれらも見ることをお勧めします。道が生活道路であり史跡前には停車出来そうな場所もあるのですが対向車の退避スペースと思われるため駐車できる場所はありません。今回は近くの公民館へ停車させてもらいましたが、状況により周辺の停車可能場所を調べておく必要もありそうです。

The road is a living road and there are places where you can stop in front of the historic site, but there is no place where you can park because it seems to be an evacuation space for oncoming vehicles. This time, I stopped at a nearby public hall, but depending on the situation, it may be necessary to check the places where the car can stop.
