★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ただの銅像ではありません。山形の鋳造技術の粋を集めたものです。後ろ足2本で屹立する像は世界的に珍しいもので、3トンの重さを足で支える構造になっています。昭和52年(1977年)、この銅像を造るにあたって、設計事務所は構造計算をし「不可能」とさじを投げました。山形鋳物組合の「西村工業」の西村氏が不可能を可能にしました。山形が世界の誇れる銅像です。
It's not just a statue. A collection of the best of Yamagata casting technology. The statue standing on two hind legs is unusual in the world, and has a structure that supports the weight of 3 tons with the legs. In 1977, when building this statue, the design office calculated the structure and threw a spoon of “impossible”. Mr. Nishimura of “Nishimura Kogyo” of Yamagata Foundry Association made the impossible possible. Yamagata is the world's proud statue.

I came on a day trip bus tour on February 7. It's difficult to shoot well.

かっこいいわー、ナポレオンかと思ってしまうほど。
この躍動感素晴らしいですね、今にもいななきが聞こえそう。
ただ、どの角度からの写真がいいのか悩みますね。
正面だと馬の腹ばかりになってしまうし、、、

指揮棒（現物は近くにある最上義光歴史館所蔵）は慶長出羽合戦の激戦地である長谷堂の方角を指しています。
It is a statue of Mogami Yoshiaki, who was once the owner of Yamagata Castle.
The baton (actually owned by the nearby Mogami Yoshiaki Historical Museum) points in the direction of Hasedo, the fierce battlefield of the Keicho Dewa battle.
