★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 旧鰍沢口駅に似た大屋根の立派な駅舎が建っていましたが、コンクリート造の味気ない駅舎にになってしまいました。
広い駅前のスペースにマッチしていないが、JR東海らしい駅。
There was a magnificent station building with a large roof similar to the old Kajikazawaguchi station, but it turned out to be a dull concrete station building.
It doesn't match the large space in front of the station, but it's a station that seems to be JR Central.

今年（2021年）再訪してみると根元から伐採されていました。残念です。
去年も咲いていたことを記憶しています。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 平成15年に改築された新駅舎のハリボテ感が半端なく、誰がどうしてこの形状にしたのか非常に気にかかっている。
無人駅なうえ券売機もないため、ここから乗車した場合、もれなく車掌さんと交信せざるをえない。
この駅で降りるときは、車掌さんが駅舎側に立って通過する客に改札作業をする。
駅名を発音すると、母音が「アイウエオ」になることには気付いていたけれど、まさか全国唯一無二だとは知らなかった。
駅舎内の木製のベンチは旧駅舎で使われていたもののようだけれど、リフォームしてあるように見える。
使い込んだ感がとても良い。味のある民芸品の趣きがある。
トイレは駅舎から数歩離れたところにある。
男女とも和式。
駅南側の道路は、なぜか行き止まり。
駐輪場はあるが、駐車場はほぼ無いに等しい。芦川駅側の踏切近くに消防団があり、そこに駐車してよいのかは不明。
駅前は閑散としたスペースがあるので自動車での送迎にはあまり困らない。
撮影日、偶然なのか常駐しているのかはわからないが、珍しい特殊列車が停まっていた。
形は松山重車輌工業のディーゼル機関車MR0137でありながら、色はレール検測車MS0226やレール深傷車MS0209と同じ黄色と青の美しい姿をしていて、Denyo 20LSのロゴが書かれていた。
想像するに、これは松山重車輌工業のディーゼル機関車で、デンヨーの20LS発電機を載せてレール検測をする列車を引っ張っているのではなかろうか。
また遭遇できたら、もっと近くで観察してみたい。
こう書き出してみるとなかなか魅力のある駅である。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 駅舎は建て替え後はマッチ箱のような味気ないがラーメンマークみたいな模様が気になります。駅舎を通って踏切を渡り島式ホームから列車に乗るようになっています。駅前にハッピードリンクショップ(自販機)があり、飲料が安く購入出来ます。
After rebuilding the station building, it looks like a matchbox, but it looks like a ramen mark. You can cross the railroad crossing through the station building and take the train from the island platform. There is a happy drink shop (vending machine) in front of the station where you can buy drinks cheaply.
