★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A tourist attraction. It's along a walking path. Good place to take some pictures. If you're lucky you might take a picture with the mountains reflection in the lake. There is a restaurant for crepes. If I remember correctly they make it from buck wheat.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went in late November so I missed a lot of the autumn colors, but I think it was still quite pretty. Since it's relatively close to Nagano City I think I'll come back during the summer or earlier in fall to see more colors.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very beautiful place to go for a short hike. During late afternoon the light is great to enjoy the breathtaking landscape around it and take some beautiful photos. The hiking trail to get there is easy and with signs along the way to show the right path.
It is also easy to go by car and there is a nice cafe near the lake. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Nagano.
