★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 岩吉集落北西の外れに忽然と一つの巨岩石が置き忘れられたようにあります。空から降ってきたのか、誰かが運んできたのか、そのどちらでもないとしたらずっと気の遠くなる程のいにしえはこの辺りは海底であったのでしょうか。丸山に離水海食洞がありますからこの辺りも海だったのかな？。
近くの伊和(いわ)神社の旧跡で、神社石とも岩室石とも言われています。その巨岩の高さ、長さ、幅、重量は計り知れませんが、何かしら神霊が巨岩に宿り目の前に立つ人を圧倒します。人は岩室岩を前にして霊験新たな気持ちになり、頭を垂れて祈りを捧げるのも当然です。
「岩室岩」が神社の旧跡であることは十分に納得できました。

It is a historic site of the nearby Iwa Shrine, and is also called a shrine stone or Iwamuro stone. The height, length, width, and weight of the rock are immeasurable, but somehow the spirit of the god dwells in the rock and overwhelms the person standing in front of it. It is natural for people to have a new feeling in front of Iwamuro Rock and to bow their heads and pray.
I was fully convinced that "Iwamuroiwa" is a historic site of a shrine.
