There is such a wonderful bridge in Harajuku

Since it is a bridge to Meiji Jingu over the Yamanote Line, it is very crowded during the day and holidays for those who worship at Meiji Jingu and those who get on and off from Harajuku Station. Therefore, it is quite difficult to stop and appreciate the history slowly. In that case, I think early morning is good. Excuse me. It seems that there was an accident in which the car crashed in the early morning the other day, so please be careful of the car even in the early morning.

Jingu Bridge was built across the Yamanote Line during the construction of Meiji Jingu in 1918. It was a concrete bridge girder using a steel frame, which was rare at that time. Black pine trees are planted on the granite balustrade of the bridge decoration so that people crossing the bridge will not notice the train running underneath. This bridge, which has been loved by many people, could not beat the approaching annual wave, and it was decided to replace it with a new bridge after fulfilling its mission for more than 60 years. The new bridge has been recreated using granite so as not to spoil the appearance of the old bridge as much as possible, and the main pillar has been restored to its original shape by repairing the stone materials of the time. In addition, granite is combined with the pavement of the sidewalk, and the tree "Keyaki" in Shibuya Ward is designed and placed in it, making it bright and suitable for the new Harajuku town.

By the way, I always went there without feeling like a bridge. It's a good bridge in Harajuku, which is familiar as the usual scenery.

Granite bridge that acts as a watershed between the Meji Jingu shrine and the Harajuku district. It replaced the old bridge from 1982 trying to keep the structure of the old one as much as possible.
