Very crowded station with luggage storage inside the gate. Many restaurants and shopping stores nearby. This station is very near to the entrance of Meiji shrine.

Old to Young ~ I like here very much ~ it is a connection from history to the future, from the old to the young, from the local to the world! You can feel a lot of energy here⋯history energy , future energy, people energy, culture energy, fashion energy and Japan energy! It is good experience to feel history of Japan and look the future of young people. People come from all over the world to visit to feel to explore here ~ old to Young ~

A must see stop, apart from the entertainment of all the dress up people it is also the stop for the most amazing town park.

Harajuku JR rail station is fairly easy to navigate compared to some of the bigger stations like Shinjuku. There is an exit/entrance right across the road from Takeshita Street which makes shopping and sightseeing easy. There are Suica card machines at both ends, and another exit/entrance very close to Menji Shrine. If you are trying to avoid crowds, I suggest walking up or down the platform, away from the stairs as we found these train carriages much less crowded.

Love the architecture of this station. Across the street there is an alleyway of souvenir shops. Also major sports brands are just around the corner. The triangle between harajuku, omotesando and shibuya are full of kitsch, designer outdoorsy brands. Check out cat street for interesting store buildings. There are also nice indyish coffee places hidde in the small side streets.

Maybe one of my favorite stations in all of Japan, old architecture (please keep it so) The station connected to the JR and Tokyo Metro lines. There is a lot of food street when you goes out the station, Harujuku station is more than a train station, its an Japan modern entertainment and style.

This station is served by the circular Yamanote Line. It is also adjacent to Meiji-Jingumae Station on the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda and Fukutoshin Lines, and is marked as an interchange on most route maps, although there is no physical connection between the two stations.
