Very cool to see the art in a dark, cool, and quiet setting. About half of the explanatory plaques have English translation, but you still get a good idea of the history in the scenes. You must lean very close to the woodblock prints to see the smallest details and if the museum has many visitors you will have to wait on the people ahead of you to finish looking closely. Kind and helpful staff.

Very nice and huge collection of art, exhibitions are quickly rotated and are exposed nicely. The problem is however that only a tiny fraction of the collection is exposed at one time. The exhibition size (and building) is unfortunately very small, would be great to have more content to be shown available.

Small museum with an amazing ukiyo-e collection of over 20,000 prints. A must visit for ukiyo-e art lovers. Spans the history and many painting/printing schools and artists from this tradition. Rotating themed exhibits to support Ota’s vast collection support multiple repeat visits.

Too small. Trop petit. I was astonished only few painting shown. Very few works that you can see. Not recommended.

Nice little museum specialized in Japanese woodblock prints ukiyoe. Exposition changes every month. Ideally located in Harajuku. Excellent Japanese souvenirs shop at B1F.

Very low-key, nice museum. Takes less than an hour to get through but every exhibition is wonderful.

Small, intimate museum that shows a rotating collection of ukiyo-e from Ota's personal collection. There's only three galleries but you can expect to see some literally priceless prints, and it's worth taking them time to really look at them all. There's also a really cute tenugui/furoshiki shop in the basement (also accessible as a normal store from outside the museum) that has good quality and pretty patterns that would make for good souvenirs. Note that there's no photography allowed, to protect the prints, and no gift shop.

A small museum (only a couple of rooms) accessible from Harajuku station in just one minute. They have a rich lineup of limited time exhibits of ukiyoe (woodblock prints) on several interesting subjects, and a tiny gift shop. Please note: English translation is minimal. Usually only the titles of the works will be translated into English, and all of the wealth of information otherwise is in Japanese only. Moreover, you will NOT be allowed to translate such text with any translation app or digital dictionary. In 2022, this lack of accessibility is appalling.
