当時の姿を看板で見ることができます。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 上田市岩下の千曲川の中に火山岩の巨大岩の島があります。
昔（昭和15年頃）には，この岩と右岸との間に吊り橋が架けられていたそうです。 70年以上が経過した現在でも 太鼓岩と右岸の両方に，その支柱が残っています。
現在は，左岸に道路（車道）がありますが，吊り橋の架かっていた頃には 現在のような道路は無く，直ぐに山でした。
右岸には，この岩を解説する看板が立てられています。
There is a huge volcanic rock island in the Chikuma River in Iwashita, Ueda City.
In the old days (around 1945), a suspension bridge was built between this rock and the right bank. Even now, more than 70 years later, the pillars remain on both the drum rock and the right bank.
Currently, there is a road (carriageway) on the left bank, but when the suspension bridge was built, there was no road like it is now, and it was a mountain immediately.
On the right bank, there is a sign explaining this rock.
