★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ｢岩戸神社」は陸地が海に競り出るギリギリの厳しい岩場の山裾にしっかりとしがみついています。
約150段の石段の中程位からはセメントでしっかり石段とその周囲とが結びつけられ、上り始めの前半の狭い箇所には手すりがあります。
小高い本殿境内までの途中で岩戸集落と港が見渡せます。境内に至るまで終始、岸壁に波が打ち寄せる海鳴り等が聞こえてきます。荒れた日にはこれに加えて風の吹き様はいかばかりかと察せられます。
長い間、風雨にさらされた｢岩戸神社」は地元の漁師の守り神です。
それ以上の長い間をかけて大自然の力は、少しずつ岩山の大地を削り取っています。神社自身もその力には抗えずに朽ち果てようとするのを必死で住民の方々は守り、再建してきました。
｢岩戸神社」は地元の方々の執念の信仰心を表しています。
