北陸新幹線、信越線、大糸線、えちごトキめき鉄道ひすいラインの駅です。
駅に小さな鉄道ミュージアムがありました。
駅から海まで500m位(海水浴場ではない)、展望台がありました。
ここはひすいやフォッサマグナで有名です。
 It is located in Itoigawa City, Niigata Prefecture.
It is a station on the Hokuriku Shinkansen, Shin-Etsu Line, Oito Line, and Echigo Tokimeki Railway Hisui Line.
There was a small railway museum at the station.
There was an observatory about 500m from the station to the sea (not a beach).
This is famous for jade and Fossa Magna.

At the south exit, the actual diesel car Kiha 52 series that was active on the Oito Line is stored indoors, and there is a mockup of the Twilight Express. There is also a railway museum where you can enjoy the materials of the Hokuriku Line and Oito Line and the huge Plarail course model railroad N / HO gauge diorama.

と、鉄路で移動してくるとかなりの「陸の孤島」感がある場所にあります。
（同じ北陸の敦賀駅を思わせます。）
2020年12月、全国の新幹線駅に先立ってみどりの窓口が廃止となりました。
（現在の時刻表でも駅の印が緑色に塗られていますが、これは「みどりの券売機プラス」が設置されていることによるものです。）
Central station of Itoigawa city.
* East is Kubiki Mountains (many long tunnels)
* Oito Line in the south (super local line in West Japan)
* Oyashirazu in the west (many long tunnels)
* North is the Sea of Japan
And, when you move by railroad, it is in a place where you can feel a considerable "isolated island of land".
(Reminiscent of Tsuruga Station in the same Hokuriku region.)
In December 2020, the Midori no Madoguchi was abolished prior to Shinkansen stations nationwide.
(The station mark is also painted in green in the current timetable, but this is due to the installation of "Green Ticket Vending Machine Plus".)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A really nice station, it has a small railway museum and also railway miniature. I came here using shinkansen from Tokyo and planned to change train to Oito Line however there was no service that day. So JR provided a bus instead. The staff here was very helpful, they showed me the way to the waiting room.
