★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ここで姫路駅から電化された区間は終了します。ここから非電化区間になります。姫路駅から寺前まで１０３系電車が。また、ここからはキハ４０形が運行しています。車内は改造されていますが、昭和に活躍していた車両を今でも見ることができます。また、片側運転台のでキハ４７形を両運転台に魔改造されたキハ４１形を見ることができます。乗換ホームは隣なので時間がかかりませんが、電車と気動車ではホームに段差があります。

接続は概ね２分程度だが同じホームで乗り換えが出来る。
車椅子やベビーカーなどもスロープが設置されて乗り降りがしやすい感じだが防護さくがある為に少し迂回しなければならない。
駅前には食堂がある。
トイレも綺麗に掃除されていてる。
