2019市民夏祭りにかつがれた「ぞうさん御輿 」が西口に展示されています。
ホーム待合室は、２番線ホームの水戸側階段降りたところにあります。空調も効いています。喫煙エリアは１番線２番線ホームともにホーム屋根のあるところの水戸側にあります。きれいにお使いいただきたいものです。
20191103現在「ぞうさん御輿」は、撤収されています。

発車メロディの長さが特徴な当駅。最後まで聞くと１分強の長さになるため最後まで聞ける機会は、ほとんどありません。
一日の特急の停車は2020/09現在で上り８本。下り８本です。
