中	中村中 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 常磐線高萩駅。(たかはぎ) 明治30(1897)年2月25日、日本鉄道高萩駅として開業。大正15(1926)年4月、２代目となる駅舎が完成し現在に至るまで使われている。高萩駅始発の電車はいわき方面へは無く、水戸方面のみである。上野発着のグリーン車連結列車は始発と夜の2本のみ。基本は勝田か水戸で上野、品川行きに乗り換える。特急ときわ号が高萩〜品川を結んでいる。特急ひたち号の停車駅。駅前には長久保赤水(ながくぼせきすい)公の像がある。享保2(1717)年に多賀郡赤浜村(現高萩市)で生まれて14歳のころから下手綱村(現高萩市)の私塾に通ってからは江戸や水戸で学び地図作りに励む。とりわけ安永9(1780)年『改正日本輿地路程全図』(かいせいにほんよちろていぜんず)、通称、赤水図が出版。これは伊能忠敬公の日本地図に先立つこと42年前。しかも伊能図と異なり5版まで重版して海外へも広められた。駅前バスターミナルの隣に高萩郵便局がある。日暮里起点　162.5km 電報略号　ハキ Joban Line Takahagi Station.
