The museum is crushed (?) Not open
The distance from the parking lot is not so big, but it may be difficult for people with weak legs because it is a gentle slope.
I think the scenery is relatively good, and although the statue is alone, it is a magnificent statue.
When I came here from the ropeway, it was a nice road for a motorcycle.

In winter, I went to see Corporal Fusanosuke Goto in the snow because it was closed in winter. In winter, even in the snowstorm of Mt. Hakkoda, the blue sky is now cloudless. I come here every year to worship. Dozo Chaya is currently closed.

If you go up the slope of the well-maintained promenade for about 5 minutes, you can see a bronze statue with a dignified presence against the backdrop of Mt. Hakkoda.
It would be great if people of the generation who did not know the movie "Mt. Hakkoda" could think about the fact that some people died in a place other than the battlefield and the background of the history that had to die. I think it is.
It was also valuable to meet Mr. Sakamoto, who has been volunteering to prepare a lot of take-out materials and giving explanations on site for several years.

It's lonely and lonely.
A place where you have to stop by to follow the history of the snow march distress.
The face of the statue of Goto is cute.

A few minutes drive from Sukayu Onsen? Therefore, it is recommended to stop by.
It is valuable because it is a military figure that was almost lost during the war and in the postwar GHQ.
An image of a soldier who should have been familiar before the war.
Aside from political beliefs, you can experience the people of the Showa era before the war.
Although the statue itself looks like a boy, it gives the impression of a fine body.
It must be the ideal military figure that people before the war thought.

I went from Sukayu Onsen to see this monument.
Despite the end of April, the rest house Dozo Chaya, where snow remained around Hakkoda, has already closed.
The route to the unpopular monument is from Google Maps
However, it was difficult to find a route on foot.
I climbed a slope to the monument, but I couldn't find the way because it was buried in the snow.
Just step up and discover the existence of a statue that sticks out to the heavens
I felt like Columbus, who discovered the New World.
The view from the top is superb, "Hakkoda Mountains Banzai!"
I couldn't help screaming.
Dozo Chaya, Kanaruan, and other shops are closed and closed one after another, and the loneliness is only increasing, but I hope that only this monument will be left for posterity.

The road to get here is like a Hakone Turnpike, and if you come by motorcycle, you will be able to experience the fun corners, beautiful scenery, and the air of the mountains.
It's been several decades since I read Jiro Nitta's "Death March on Mount Hakkoda" and watched the movie, but I was finally able to reach it with my feet. It's cheerful, but you can't even imagine the wandering snow walls from this landscape.
Is there a museum? Was it closed? Is it the influence of corona? I didn't know if it was closed
I've heard that the person who lost his limbs here is alive, but it's a pity that he's already estranged and now he doesn't know the details.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It could be a long drive(and hike) to get there, but on a clear day, you will get the best photo with the mountains in the back.
