★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice gym! Only gym I know in tokyo accepts tattoo. Very foreigner friendly. I am impressed! Ikebukuro sports centre is ready for the olympics! All gyms in tokyo should follow this. Great example !

It seems to be well organized..but not at all.
Actually I have been stolen 2 times before even I put my belongings in the lockers.
The staff is not kind anyway

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went swimming here today for the first time and had a fantastic time! The staff were all super nice. Here are some pointers for first timers: head to the 9th floor for the sports center. Grab a ticket from the machine, check in, head to the lockers, which leads to the pool (11th floor using elevator from the bathroom). There’s a shower right before you enter the pool. No shampoo or soaps can be used in any of the showers. There’s a spinning swimsuit dryer in the locker room.
A few pool rules for visitors: swimming caps are mandatory for both men and women (they sell caps and goggles there if you need it). As you enter pool, left most lane is for beginners, right lane is fastest. Circle swimming for all the lanes (counter clockwise). At the hour, an announcement will begin, everyone gets out of the pool for about 5 minutes. No jewelry or watches or any gear other than goggles and caps are allowed in the water. There are pull buoys and kick boards free for use. There are shallow pools for kids, and babies in diapers aren’t allowed in the water.
Oh and if you’re visibly pregnant, you have to wear a rental pink swimming cap the lifeguards will provide. I covered up my arm tattoos with a rash guard. Women typically dress more conservatively and wear one pieces, but of course, bikinis are still allowed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This gym is conveniently located 10 minutes north of the station at Ikebukuro, and at 400 yen for 2 hours, the price is right too. It's especially great if you don't want to commit to gym memberships.
It does get a bit busy, but usually there is good order to things, and most people are considerate. There was one time there was this guy who obviously didn't care about the other patrons (seriously, who takes their breaks on the bench?) But if you go on weekdays in the late morning or early afternoon, it's very empty and easy to train.
It has good views of the city, and good facilities (sauna, locker room, etc) and always pretty clean. Also a good place to get information on local concerts and festivals!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 400 yen to work out and bring your new indoor only sneakers. Pool is unisex area and wearing no jewelry in steam room. A good gym filled with friendly and very respectful Japanese who always wiped down the machines after use and wait in line in order but some foreigners still could not follow rules.
