陸上⇔居組の交通事情は今現在、国道178号線自動車専用通行トンネルがほぼ直進で開通していますのでこちらの利用が圧倒的です。しかしトンネル開通前は鳥取市から浜坂方面へ向かうには国道9号線よりも陸上経由で七坂八峠を通過し、つまり国道178号線の海岸沿いの道路を走行利用し居組、諸寄、香住、浜坂と辿り着きました。うねうねと走りながらも日本海の絶壁や岩場に展開の、今風の表現ではジオパークを楽しみながら七坂八峠越えをしました。つい最近まで。古来より因幡からの但馬往来は主に駟馳山峠から浦富へ行きそこから蒲生峠越えで千谷(ちや)へ、それとも七坂八峠越えで居組へ、この二通りでした。 20200620 東浜展望所から七坂八峠展望台まで約１時間少し「七坂八峠古道」を歩きました。歩いてしみじみと感じた事は(よくもまぁ~、こんな海に近い切り立つ入り江の高い位置にうねうねと道を拵えて往来していたなぁ~、つい最近まで先人は大変な苦労をして諸国を移動、旅していたものだ) 「七坂八峠古道」の真新しい道標(みちしるべ)が居組寄りと東浜寄りにそれぞれ立てられ、(新温泉町居組)の表示板の場所を確認通過して居組に到着した時の安堵感は何にも変えがたい心地良さでした。復路も素晴らしい。「七坂八峠古道」大好き！。
